Daily Meditations for 12/6

Daily Meditations (12/6)

December 6, 2022 Posted by Anneca Peoples Daily Meditations, Spiritual Recovery

Today’s Daily Meditation for December 6th comes from the Recovered readings of Each Day A New Beginning.

Introduction

“These meditations, one for each day of the year, speak to the common experiences, shared struggles, and unique strengths of women, especially those seeking support and spiritual growth in Recovery.”

– Karen Casey (Each Day A New Beginning)

Each Day A New Beginning by Karen Casey.

In Each Day A New Beginning, every day begins with a quote from a woman in Recovery and ends with an affirmation for the day. At The Hollywood and Vine Recovery Center, our fellowship members often explore these daily reflections with each other and share their personal experiences relating to the meditation for that day. While the 12-Step path to Spiritual Recovery is one that we must each experience individually, it is not a path that we have to travel alone. Explore the Each Day A New Beginning daily meditation for 12/6 below.

12/6 – Daily Meditation

“Each day provides its own gifts.” – Ruth P. Freedman

“We guaranteed experiences that are absolutely right for us today. We are progressing on schedule. Even when our personal hopes are unmet, we are given the necessary opportunities for achieving those goals that complement our unique destinies.

Today is full of special surprises, and we will be the recipient of the ones which are sent to help us grow – in all the ways necessary for our continued recovery. We might not consider every experience a gift at this time. But hindsight will offer the clarity lacking at the moment, just as it has done in many instances that have gone before.

We are only offered part of our personal drama each day. But we can trust our lives to have many scenes, many acts, points of climax, and a conclusion. Each of us tells a story with our lives, one different from all other stories and yet necessary to the telling of many other stories too. The days ahead will help us tell our story. Our interactions with others will influence our outcomes and theirs. We can trust the drama and give fully to our roles.”

– Each Day A New Beginning

The affirmation for today: “Each day is a gift exchange. I give, and I will receive.”

The Wrap-up

As we reflect throughout the day on the daily meditations for 12/6, remember the moments that may arise when it feels like nothing is going right or like nothing is going our way. This can be discouraging and flare up our fears and insecurities which in turn affects our mood, behaviors, and even our decision-making.

As we together take a deep breathe and remind ourselves of this daily meditation, we remember those seemingly bad moments, circumstances, or perceived losses that arise are a part of a greater design. A design that is for our greater good. Then, we can move forward with enjoying our day and share with others what came about as a result. Together, through sharing the proof from those who trudged the road before us, we can hold onto the light of Hope and find enjoyment in even our darkest days.
